Can Bill Maher please shut up
By Paul Anthony
If you follow Bill Maher, you will know he’s the biggest trash talker there is, who pretty much thinks hes a rottweiler when in reality he is nothing more then a chihuahua, that needs to be kicked. I’m not saying i was a fan but I would watch him from time to time when there was nothing else to watch. But now I see this man decides to hit an all time low.
We all know Stan Lee passed away earlier this month, at the age of 95. Here is will Bill decides to show his colors, by taking cheap shots at both Stan Lee’s legacy and his fans who are mourning. In what would be the worse time to say anything regarding someone passing, he decides to blast fans “who are in deep deep mourning over a guy who simply inspired millions to see a movie” he also went on to blast people by saying people need to grow up and read books without pictures. I must say Bill you are truly an idiot and I would love to say it to his face. Bill is in his 60’s and his career is winding down and i believe he likes to say stupid stuff like this to get a reaction to keep his career going. Because he knows his legacy is never going to be on the same level as Stan Lee.
Bill would go on once again blasting people who blast him for his comments by saying more dumb stuff and that dumb stuff is the backlash only proves his point. Oh Man, let me take a breath for second, no people who are going after him don’t prove his point, and I am sure he’s going to say something like reading comics make you dumb, no Bill listening to you will make people dumb. When people make remarks like that, it is clear as day they know they are wrong but in some people nature they can never admit that they are wrong.
Now I am not saying Stan Lee created literature atleast according to rules comics aren’t literature. However what Stan lee work did do was inspire people to read aqnd believe in themselves. Marvel heroes and villains are famous for having flaws but it taught people that you can have falws but still do good in life. Those people that read those comics did move onto books without pictures and as for those movies, No, Stan Lee didn’t make those films, these movies bring people back to a fun time in their life and that’s why they are hits with fans.
To prove a point here regarding his comments, president Obama who a lot of people regard as one of the better presidents even said Bill was wrong for that. In the end people are allowed to mourn for whoever they want and for reasons they will only know, but this doesn’t mean it’s okay for a never was like Bill Maher to put his two cents in this subject and just let people mourn. So Please Bill will you just shut up!
How to make a movie flop
By Paul Anthony
Some movies set themselves up for failure, the movie could be great or just okay which is enough to get by, however there are films that truly give themselves no chance to succeed and one film is doing that right now and that film is the reboot of Child’s Play. The studio announced that the reboot would be coming out on June 21st, 2019. The date seems like it is no big deal right? Well wrong and here is why.
First it is in the beginning of the summer, now I understand that’s when people come out and enjoy the movies so you would think it makes sense but another thing that is wrong with the date is that another film a much bigger film is being released on that date and that film is Toys Story 4. If you are going to put a film in the summer slot most of the time it is a film that is getting a lot of hype and/ or is from an establish successful film franchise. It doesn’t matter what genre the film is which has been proven summer not always about the action film.
Toys Story 4 is no joke and I wouldn’t put a low hyped reboot next to a film that is from a legendary film franchise. Each film has grossed more than a the previous film with the third film reaching the one billion marker back in 2010. Not to mention its been 9 years since the previous came out. Now if you are going to say well Child’s Play is a establish film series then yes but it is a film series that is pretty much dead and haven’t been good since 1992 and its last film basically killed it with the Seed of Chucky. It made a comeback on netflix though but that is still not the same anymore as the big screen audience. I was caught off guard how good the films were and I believed Netflix was doing a lot of good for the killer doll, which even makes this reboot even more annoying because no one wants this reboot.
If they want this film to be the start of something more and make a run at having a second chance at a good film series then it would be wise to change the date of this film. Having it in the summer line up would be the biggest mistake. I would recommend them putting it in the fall line up and even better in October when people are craving a good horror film. If studios want a good successful horror film Like IT then they need to look at everything they did right and Even that film was not released in the summer. Now until the trailer drops and the film gets promoted more and get more details then we can’t say much more, so we shall see!
Bad Boys 3 Finally?
By Paul Anthony
Is it true? yes it is, finally after 17 long years, we are getting a film that we have been dying for and that film is none other then Bad Boys 3. We even got a title for it as well, which is Bad Boys for life. However they took the E out of life and replaced it with the number 3 to make it very clear that this is the third film in this film series. But why did it take so long for the film we wanted so bad to finally be happening?
We all know that theses films don’t have much of a story to them, for an example in the first film the team protects a murder case witness and in the second film the teams returns to solves a bigger case which trying to figure out who is bringing ecstasy in southern Florida. These films rely on the action and comedy that Smith and Lawrence bring to the film.
Having the cast return is such a great deal but what I think is even better is that the fact that Micheal Bay isn’t returning to the directing chair for this film. Bay has directed the first two films in the franchise. The wait for this film to happening came down to money. Having Bay, Smith and Lawrence returning would simply cost too much money for the studio and out the three which one would you want go away? Bay isn’t a good director, he never was, he made his money with producing action scenes but overall film is not his strong point. With that being said in my eyes he is just not worth it. With the money they don’t have to waste they can relocate that money with bringing in more characters to make this film even better then first two.
Now i have to wonder if both the guys can bring the action with their ages playing a role in this film. Crazy as it seems both actors are in their fifties already, which makes you think part three could be it for this franchise. The film is expected to come out in the summer of 2020 so we will have to wait until then to see what we are going to get from this film.
Do we really have to remake Shrek?
BY Paul Anthony
We now know remakes are happening all the time these days and now a modern day classic is getting remade and this strictly comes down to the studio wanting more money from a franchise that has been done for nearly a decade. This classic is the film Shrek, which to this day I love watching and just before they announced this, I was actually watching Shrek. As I stated I believe this is just the studio trying to get money out of this after all that is the number one reason why studios remake films to simply make money. Now some films can do good from being remade but Shrek is just not one of them.
Shrek was released in 2001 and was a big hit among families and both children and adults loved it. It gave us something different, the adult humor was there and was so nice about it that children could.t catch the jokes but the adults did. The story was good and the comedy was great and it was a computer animated film which was the first of it’s kind. The effects were so good that here I am watching it and seeing there is nothing that looked bad, this film was so far ahead of it’s time that it isn’t funny. Now the last time we saw Shrek in action was back in 2010 when the fourth film was released. Shrek four was called Shrek : The Final Chapter, which if you go by the title it seems this film would wrap up everything and call it day. The film was still strong with grossing money and made 800 plus million and when your fourth film does that much by all accounts we could almost expect a fifth film and they did announced that fifth film was planned but was cancelled. To this day, we don’t know why, I am guessing they just jumped the gun and thought people were done with Shrek.
With that being said i know it is safe to say it was only a matter of time for them to see that they could still make money off of Shrek. We just thought after eight years there wouldn’t be a Shrek film for a very long time, but here we are. The Studio wants to get the original cast back which in my mind would tell me, they would want a fifth film and not a reboot because with a reboot this would require a whole new cast. So are they already dooming this project because they can’t figure out what they actually want. Now they could do a prequel with right script if they want the same cast to return and do something where they change the timeline and we are all okay with it. Just look at X-Men Days of Future Past for an good example. Once there are more details we dive right into them.
