Ben can’t handle the pressure

Just when you thought DC caught a break with casting Ben Affleck as their new Batman and leading the Justice League team, they ran into a problem and that problem was Zach Snyder not giving us a good Batman v Superman film which started this ripple down effect. The Justice League film has been reporting behind the camera issues and scrpt problems, Flash can’t get a director and Aquaman hasnt begun production yet and Wonder Woman yet to debut. This leads us into Ben and the next Batman film. First it was annouced that Ben would be starring and directing the Batman film, now we have no clue whose directing it.

Ben realize he couldnt direct it and star in it and from what I hear its no easy task to do, so no harm done and let Ben do what he does best and that is act. DC then annouces that Matt Reeves would take over directing duties, which was a hugh achcievment because you finally got a director with talent and you have Ben, this is just as good as having Nolan and Bale but this was short lived. Matt wanted alot of creative control just not with Batman but with any film that it helps creates. We don’t know if this was too much to ask for or what but talks broke down and Matt decided to walk away, leaving the dynamic duo. Then the news got worse and that new is that Ben been feeling the pressure and can’t take it anymore. It is being reported that he wants to leave after The Batman  film and Warner Brothers  already trying to get a casting list together. Let this be known that this part has only been a rumor and nothing has been confirmed yet.

If they need to recast I believe this is only going to hurt them even more, the revolving door isn’t good for busness, so far the best part of DCEU has been Ben giving a dark and in pain Batman. Not too mention a pretty strong one to.

I sat back and try to wonder what if Batman V Superman was a great film and the DCEU was kicking Butt with making the moneyh and giving Marvel a run for their money. I have to say I doubt that we would be hearing about any of this drama had Batman v Superman did good. I guess we may never know, but if Ben leaves the series I believe they will truly fall somehow.

For now Ben is batman and will continue to be batman until the rumors become true, either way it doesnt look good for the DCEU, if they ever want to be like Marvel, they need to get the pressure off of their stars and let them shine, definatly one as talented as Ben. I am sure we will hear more about this film in the upcoming weeks.

Who will Main Event Wrestlemania?

By: Justin Hopkins

The road to Wrestlemania is well underway, and while only one real match is certain. Can start to see certain rivals that will collide on the biggest stage of them as. On the Smackdown side, you can easily say AJ Styles vs John Cena, Baron Corbin vs Dean Ambrose, as well as Natayla vs Nikki Bella facing off against one another. Raw is a little tricky, since they still have Fastlane coming up, but sort of safe to say, Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman an Jeicho vs Kevin Owens. The question being which match will go on last.                              Going to rule out Brock Lesnar taking on Goldberg right off the bat. Since Lesnar will probably cost Goldberg the title. Won’t be for any titles. Not a rubber match, because Goldberg is up two wins to nothing, and both of these guys have nothing to gain here. Wouldn’t even be surprised if this ends up being the worst match of the night, and does not deserve to close out the show.                                                                                                                                                Since Kevin Owens is defending his World Title at Fastlanes, they’ll probably save this for Wrestlemania. Coming of the heels of attacking his Best Friend, Chris Jeicho will be coming to exact revenge on his former bestie Kevin Owens. This match had the classic story of friends turned enemies, both having tremendous amounts of talents. Owens being the future and Jericho being a future Hall of fame, but Raw has been hit or miss. Unlike Smackdown who is putting on great shows on a regular basis. However there is one small flaw. Bray Wyatt does not have a clear challenger.                                                            Randy Orton won the Royal Rumble, meaning he won the right to face his brands Champion. He’s currently refusing, since as a member of the Wyatt Family, won’t fight his leader. So, they’ll have a Battle Royal to determine the number one contender. Which may very well turn out to be former Wyatt member; Luke Harper. Don’t think for one moment the viper won’t join back in, making it a triple threat match, but they’ll lose two weeks now, which could have been used to start building anticipation.                                                       That being said, Bray’s title defense should go on last. Bray has tremendous talent and puts on great matches, same with Luke Harper, and with the veteran Randy Orton being apart of it. This match will steal the show as it is. Might as well do it as the closer.

Friday The 13th no more!

By Paul Anthony

I remember back in 2008 when I heard about the reboot of Friday the 13th, I was completely excited, defiantly since the last film Freddy vs Jason was clearly nothing more than a glory low action film and the film before that Jason X was nothing more  than a franchise killer and made no sense and no money.

So here we are in 2009 and I saw Jason return to his glory with a few added things that made the character more believable and more stronger. Sure he was extremely big but he was smart, he’s underground tunnels n warning bell systems showed that, he was fast and he didn’t take crap from anyone who trespass in his part of the woods. Also the movie had a story to follow just not random killing of horny young people. A brother trying to find his sister, who has gone missing for a few weeks now, he gets help of from a another group of people visiting the area and that’s when the killings start. In the end the brother and sister reunite n stop Jason or so you think.

The reboot made 91 million worldwide n second most only behind Freddy vs Jason. Sure you knew a sequel was on it’s way or so you thought. At first the sequel was coming so they said then the dates were changed and rewrites starting to happen then finally they said they wanted to invest in other genres a few years back. Then it was announced that they would be rebooting the series again and would include Jason mom. We even heard at one point that it was gunna be a found footage movie and explore how he keeps returning.

Nothing happen after that but then this time around we started to get even a shooting schedule and casting call but the script wasn’t even done yet and casting wasn’t going well, then insult to injury shooting was just weeks away. Out of the blue the studio announced this week that the film will not be happening, and there a good chance that this time Jason is staying dead,  the studio announced they are once again focusing on other genres since their film Rings was a box office bomb.

Jason however will remain in the spotlight when the video game comes out unless it too gets the axe but unlike the movie the game was crowdfunded. The fans raised 1.1 million dollars for the game to happen which is the 114th ranked crowdfunded video game of all time. So they will see a 100 percent return profit from that. Maybe then they will reconsider but I highly doubt it.

With this long delay they may have missed they their chance. It is clear that rebooting the slasher films of the 80s seems to be a difficult task and the studio doesn’t want to invest in the effort to get it right. I am sure one day Jason will be back but not anytime soon, so I wouldn’t hold your breath.

Throwback to Odd Thomas

By Justin Hopkins;
In 2014, Odd Thomas, was released straight to dvd. Which was a shame, because it was not due to it being a bad movie, but because of multiple law suits from production companies, over not being paid. Had it gotten a real theatrical run. Would have killed it in the box office. Besides the fact that this movie, is almost completely like the Dean Koontz book it is based off of ( only missing a few minor details.) Has an excellent story and acting, from the late Anton Yelchin, Allison Timlin, and William Dafoe.
Anton excels, in bringing Odd Thomas to life. Portraying Odd’s charm and how humble he is. A short order cook, who uses his ability to see the dead and try to bring them to justice. Story centering around him attempting to stop an incoming tragedy.
Along with his girlfriend Stormy Llewellyn ( Timlin) A relationship that dates back to when they are children and his biggest supporter, and William Dafoe, as Chief Wyatt Porter. Someone who believes in Odd, but has to walk a precarious line in how much he can help at times.
Rounding out, have to mention the CGI on the Bodachs. Formless creatures, that are drawn to impending catastrophes. Would be easy to have put to much into them. Since they don’t have forms, able to move through even the smallest entrances, and number in the hundreds at one point. However they were done just right, and add greatly to the suspense, without distracting.
I cannot suggest Odd Thomas more. Whether you love the book, or watch a great movie. The twists and turns leading up to the climactic ending, is a true enjoyment for anyone.
